Website development for small businesses

A fast website in Croatian and English, set up so Google can find it, with someone looking after it once it is live. For small companies in Rijeka, Istria and the rest of Croatia.

What you get

  • a site that loads quickly even on a weak mobile connection
  • Croatian and English versions with correct language tags for Google
  • titles, descriptions and page structure prepared for search
  • phone and email on every page, with tap-to-call
  • optional visitor statistics without cookies, so no consent banner is needed
  • maintenance and content changes whenever you need them

Who it is for

Small businesses that need their website to bring in enquiries: service companies, tradespeople, holiday rental owners, agencies and clinics. A guest from Germany should be able to read your offer in English and call you with one tap. A local client should find you when they search for your service and town.

I do not build online shops. If you need to sell products online, you are better served by someone who does that every day.

Speed and Google

Google measures how fast a page loads and how it works on a phone, and visitors leave slow sites. I build websites with Next.js, like this one: content is prepared in advance, images are resized for each screen, and fonts load from the site's own server.

You also get the technical basics for search: a sitemap, page descriptions, language tags, structured data about your company and a Google Search Console setup. That does not guarantee first place, but Google can read and show your site correctly.

Two languages from the start

On the Croatian coast, many of your clients do not speak Croatian. I write the English version so it reads naturally, not like machine translation. Each language has its own page addresses, so Google knows which version to show to whom.

Maintenance

A website is not finished at launch. Prices, opening hours, services and photos change. You send changes by email or message and I make them. I also look after the technical side: updates, security and keeping the site running on its hosting.

When the site later needs more, such as bookings or a client login, the upgrade is done by the same person who knows how it is put together. You do not start over with a new agency.

How the work goes

  • A free call about what the site should achieve and who your visitors are.
  • Page structure and text, with help writing it if you have none.
  • Design and build, on a preview address where you review the site.
  • Launch on your domain, submission to Google and a check that the pages get indexed.
  • Maintenance and changes as agreed.

Direct contact

The same person, Viktor Antunović, builds and maintains your site. When you need a change, you do not open a ticket with an agency, you write to me. I meet clients in Rijeka and Istria in person and work with everyone else remotely.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the content myself?
If you change content often, such as offers or news, the site can get a simple editing interface. On most small sites changes are rare, so it is easier to send them to me. We decide based on how often things change.
Do you build online shops?
No. I build company websites and web apps such as booking systems. For an online shop, look for someone who works only on that.
Will my site rank first on Google?
Nobody can promise that. I can make sure the site is fast, correctly marked up and clear to Google about what it covers. Ranking also depends on competition, content and your Google Business Profile.
Can the site take bookings?
Yes. The site can connect to a booking or enquiry system. If you need more than a contact form, see web app development.
Do I need an English version?
If you work with tourists or foreign clients, yes. On the coast that is the rule rather than the exception, and a bilingual site is easier to set up from the start than to add later.
